  1. You know how you only have so much time make a move?... is there a strategy in this? I mean online poker just- if I know what I wish do - should I wait until it beeps or do it quick right away?

  2. I been reading lots poker books (seems i study harder at this than my own university but hell it summer hahaha)... question on the mathematics (which makes my head explode) seems to me probability and math of odds and hands is more suited to those that play 24/7, like to get favourable outcomes if play a zillion hands... you think is something i need get into and learn/use such math - for me play maybe 3-4 times a week?

  3. quality players what other things you have running like HUDS or helper apps when you play online? i mean things that arent too complicated for a blonde?

    1) There are timing tells in online poker and you would do best to avoid making them by giving yourself a standard amount of time to make your decision in. Better players will pick up on these tells very quickly. You don't need to worry about this in terms of folding preflop so don't waste people's time needlessly here. If you are in a hand, figure out how much time you need to make most of your decisions and then initiate your action within a few seconds of that time always.

    2) You need to understand the math. There is no way of getting around that. Fortunately it isn't hard and you can memorize the odds for most of the common situations you face within an hour or so. Don't be intimidated by it and don't worry if you can't do the calculations in your head on the fly. Just memorize standard odds and outs and you will be fine for now.

    3) If you are playing cash online you should have a HUD. You do not need to make it overly complicated in terms of what you are tracking in other players. Keep it simple and easy to read quickly. Mostly you want it so that you can export your hand histories and analyze them afterwards. You will only be able to see your leaks when you look at the data away from the table. As to other software, if you are playing tournaments, I'd suggest having a good push/fold app or chart but that's about it. Some people are running programs like Flopzilla or other equity solvers but that's just weak IMO.

hi warlock ty answer me smiles
as always ty for valuable advice... and I hope you are recovering from the injury

for cash games you mean where bets with real money not chips? yes i played those on Fulltilt where you buy in $1.60 - 0.01/0.02 its fun with just 6 players and usually no one bets crazy like in tournies... and you get to play long time before go broke, sometimes i up to $4 but then end up lose it back but seems i get bored after hours of it as there is really no end to it unless you go broke, but if you do you can buy back in for the $1.60 and why quit if win $1-2? but it good practice for me like when play the APT avatars, cause you see lots and lots of hands (is no ante)

i see your point on the huds for track my own bad playing issues, after each event i try to reflect on mistakes i made and there are always many, in terms of data analysis i doubt i play enuf hands that it would ever be relevant, plus i hope i am improving always so i know my play from say 2 months ago has no reflection how i am now, nor will it in 6 months from now? For tracking other players how realistic is that? last time i log into PStars was 42k also logged in. i been play in micro things and i doubt i have met the same players, well maybe once or twice when i recognize a wonky name. Maybe one day when i grow up and play larger amounts will be fewer and the same players? then maybe it worth while right now i not really see the point - or am i wrong in this thinking?

For the math yes I have memorized the Sklansky hierarchy, and their groupings into 8 and relating them to position... i know the odds of many things like improving to a flush with 2 cards to come etc... but like figuring out expressed and implied odds with just seconds to act and consider the 12 other things Harrington says i suppose to think about makes my head explode.. l actually timed out once and my AA got folded while i trying figure odds of a flush draw chances of a re-raiser - dumb huh?

I just been at the beach all day... I just get home cause i couldnt stop reading an awesome poker book...
after i read Daniels books (Canada boy) I got Dan Harrigton book "Harrington on Hold 'em" wow it brilliant!!! and so so much valuable info and much easier understand than Sklansky... I highly recommend this book and i sure i goin need read it 2-3 times to absorb all the knowledge

want to run and try some of the things Mr. Harrington has taught me think about - wish me good sense and judgement, talk soon ... runs to PStars hahaha

oh i have another question... is there a strategy to 'sitting out' some hands? i see often players sitting out.. also i drink a lot of water and breaks are seldom so when is the best time/position to sit out when i need to go? smiles

I'm not sure there is an accepted strategy for this - lol

Just using common sense, I wouldn't want to miss my blinds (because I'm already invested in the pot) or the best positions (BTN,CO,HJ) so I'd leave when in mid position if full-ring and try to be back by the time HJ or CO came up.

As a warning - you will come back just in time to see your pocket aces mucked because you weren't there. The poker gods are just mean that way :)
