There are starting hand recommendations for 9 handed
N/L but what about short handed games?

I often look at the middle-position recommendations as EP for short handed games. In other words, at 6-max, the lo-jack and the UTG seat are the same. Since you have the same number of players left to act after you, you can use the same RFI strategy from UTG at 6-max that you would use from MP at 9-max.

Also, if you have Equilab, it has recommended ranges for both Full Ring and Six Max, very helpful for constructing Open Ranges and Defending Ranges.
