Protocol When Player Gets Disconnected?

I was heads-up at the Final Table in today's Shootout when my opponent got disconnected. My choices were to continue to play resulting in my opponent getting blinded out or to permit the system to take turns blinding me out and then blinding my opponent out. The net result of this latter choice would have been that we would have essentially remained even (as we each would have alternated picking up the blinds) and the choice would have, arguably, demonstrated good sportsmanship. What should I have done?

I think that's up to you, but in tournaments when people sit out or get disconnected, generally play just continues. Also, sometimes people just leave. I think if you knew the opponent was having trouble and would come back, just allowing it to blind you might be good sportsmanship. But there's also the issue of rising blind levels.
