Pocket Kings, 3-way pre-flop
Hey everyone,
It DID occur to me that one of these guys could be holding Pocket Aces BUT Jonas donks alot and I figured that if pocket Kings give me a chance to win 80% of time then I was going to get froggy. I will not lie, I was not relaxed about the call BUT I also refuse to live in fear of pocket Aces. Jonas is very aggro and likes to bully and I was not buying it. Would you have backed down?
PS-I am now playing the mid 6max rings games. Will also be playing the 9 max. Concentrating on 6 at the moment. Thank you, CC

We discovered Diaz is a fish at the table. Calling an UTG open and 3bet with QTo is terrible.
Can't fold KK pre or anytime on this board. Yes. Jonas can have AA but this why we range players instead of assuming the worst case scenario.
One minor improvement is Jonas has 1 pot sized bet on the flop. Just put him in. Anything he is folding, he is still folding. Anything he is calling, he is still calling.

Agreed, well played. Maybe some bet sizing tweaking you could do but at those stack depths, the money was going in the middle regardless.
Only thing I would point out is that at these levels, you can all but rule out AA and most AKs because the bots will continue to raise with those hands. Once bot flat-called your 4-bet, his range is capped at QQ for pairs and AKo (which you are blocking with KK). Sometimes these bots will try to get trappy with AA by open-limping with that hand but once the raising starts, they will go to the wall with them, as they should. The hand would have played out the same but you may have been able to save yourself a little tension if you realized you were against a very small capped range.
Tony cold-calling a 3-bet in the SB with QTo and then calling behind your 4-bet? Why can't I get players like him when I play for cash? I'd be printing EV against him all day. Take notice and do the same. You now have a license to punish this bot mercilessly. Size up and expand your ranges against him. You'll lose a few pots when he gets lucky but you will almost always be making profitable decisions against a player this loose-passive. Should nickname the bot "Verizon" 'cause he's a calling station.
Yes, Tony and Jonas are such calling station TOOLS. I am now playing Big City Nights which is the next step up in the mid levels. AT 2,549 h ands I left Poker Party with 9.12/100 BB. Right now , at around 1400 hands in Big City Nights I am around 34/100 BB. I am sure that BB will be dropping lol. Thanks Warlock for your input. CC
If you have a 4bet calling range, JJ-88, AK or whatever, for balance and deception, you call with aces too.
@highfive - yup, that's a more balanced way to play for sure but he playing some top level players and needs to balance his ranges. Vs most players you don't need to, even though its 100% exploitable. Grumpy-poker-cat say "I haz Queens, I calling". That's about as deep as the thought process goes for the average player. Used to be a thing that 4-bets were always QQ+ and 5-bets/shoves were exactly KK, AA and AKs. Not hard to play against ranges that narrow and yet it worked for a long time and we still see a lot of it to this day. Hey, if people don't want to fold, punish them for it.
@highfive got me onto Doug Polk... so i have lot of his stuff and videos, and I watch him play on twitch often... i amazed at his brilliant mind so able to quickly analyze all relevant factors... but gezze what an obnoxious guy with an ego big as a house? hahaha
I just checked out Polks Bankroll challenge(HIghFive reccomended). Was watching him in a .50 nl micro cash game. WOW, he got sucked out on and seemed to have some trouble adjusting to not trying to bluff these guys too much. I don't blame him. He is used to elite cash players and I am sure it took a while for him to get his micro adjustments back. He REALLY took a beating with the suck outs when he had good hands. I felt sorry for him and thats coming from someone who has a really hard time with his personality. Cheers, CC
