Practising a specific street

Hi guys,

tested APT and bought it after 3 minutes. Really excited about the opportunity to work on my game this way.

Here's the thing: I played about 1k hands but already noticed that I'm spewing money on the turn. I don't know why yet, probably my cbetting sucks or I double barrel too much, thus I get into trouble on the turn/river.

But how am I going to estabish a practise routine for this problem? I can practise certain hole cards and positions, but it's not possible (yet) to play random hands on specific streets.

Any creative ideas on how to isolate the leak and get some repetitions?

Thanks

Maybe just set the trainer to deal you only playable hands and proceed from there? That way you won't waste your time with hands you'd just fold preflop anyway. If you start with playable hands (from all positions), you will see turns a good percentage of the time. I don't see how you could start a hand on the turn just to practice that street because the actions before then help determine what the appropriate action should be. Without the earlier information, how would you determine an appropriate line ot pick midway through the hand?

    Hope this helps a little.

I agree with warlock. That's a good way to get some practice on the turn because it gets you to realistic settings you create for yourself. I would also recommend looking at your reports for hands and seeing which hands you are losing money on. That may give you a hint about hands causing you issues.

If you want to play some specific types of turn hands, another option is to use the combat trainer. You can do the turn scenarios or possibly start with the flop scenarios and that will move you on. Here's a link to the combat trainer turn situations:
