$100K tournament 31 players left. my stack 240000, blinds 24000 / 12000 5k ante. I'm at the cut off. player in m3 shoves for 47k. I look and have AK diamonds. Short stacked button small blind, the BB has 600K. I flat the 47k, looking for a shove. fold, fold BB shoves. I call, BB /AA m3 J9. wins with set nine's. I walk. Would you fold or call BB? Already in a min cash.
wow that sucks.. like how could you do anything else? is just bad luck maybe... if you no going to go to the wall with that, what else is there ? 100k tournie what is buy in - you rich? bats eyes sweetly
With 10bb, just shove pre. I love AK but with no postflop playability I dont really want to go multiway with it.
Don't give the BB such a good price to come in with random trash that still has equity.
A flat from you here looks really strong, so not likely to expect but or sb come over the top.
Oops... sorry, just realized this is not the venue for a forum review.

This hand is from the Medium level local casino tournament of a field of 200. I made it down to the last three people...The lady on my right was playing very aggressive raising all of her buttons. I wake up with 88 and decide to raise her open of 32,000 to 85k...I feel that I should have just raised her all in because at this point I had the chip lead by a substantial amount...The flop came with three over cards but I had a ton of outs also...I did not want to give her the betting lead, so I shoved knowing that she got a piece of the board...she called and I did not catch up...can you go in depth with me about this particular play. I know its hard to give analysis without all the variables, but trust me when I tell you, she was very aggressive at this stage of the tournament. All in all I'm not upset with my play except my 3 bet should have either been a shove or a higher amount....Thanks Steve...

Steamin Steve,
I posted a hand under "General Poker" called "Tyrese Simpson Part II." I think it's an interesting case. It's actually not one hand but kind of a mix of several, and is a scenario that I've seen at times from a particular class of player. I could cut-and-paste it to here, or you could go look at it there. Let me know how I should handle that...
