The advisors's advice is flawed, so why continue paying for the APT service?

Observation. Trying to improve my performance on KQ & KQs based on My Weekly Training, I utilized the "Advice" button heavily. I've tried several "advisers," all pros. Every single on over-estimated my hand strength and got me into escalating bet situations with nominal hands.

This continued for 6 trials of 50. Where I ended up like -57 BB/ 100.

I'd have done better heeding my own counsel. Which I've tried for 3 trials at +15 BB/ 100.

Granted, its possible that this is a statistical anomaly and that over the long-haul my hand-play with KQo is too cautious and that the coaches will beat me over, say, 100 trials of 50. But their advice does seem wack.

Which leads to my question: If the coaching advice your AI's are giving me is suspect, why pay for your service? I'm considering switching to Red Chip Poker to see if their tools are better.

PS. Their advice was also out of wack on monster pairs AA and KK too. Especially on connected boards, they ignored obvious flushes and straights and ran my KK to all-in too often on the turn or river. Again, coaching advise returned -BB versus my positive BB on my own.

I am here to IMPROVE my BB/100. I'm here to learn to quell my leaks and learn a more solid playing style.

I expected you coaches to help. Instead, their advice would lose me money.

Hi and welcome to APT. You are misusing the advice. The point of the advice on our site is to give you a suggestion about one way to play a hand when you are in a bind. It is NOT designed for you to just look at all the time and blindly follow it. If you do that, it comes down to computer vs computer and there is no way to win.

The advice is a very minor part of our site and it isn't the feature that is the main training tool. The purpose of our site is to play a bunch of hands against realistic human like bots and get weekly training plans diagnosing the weaknesses in your game. Then you can practice those specific hands or situations over and over again with the simulator and use the brain button within the advice to get better at knowing the odds and estimating your opponent's range.

I like the guys at Red Chip and we work together a lot (they have beat the pro challenges on our site and Doug uses our site to coach his private players). Their site is completely different from ours and is more of an instructional site. I do recommend it if you are looking for something like that. Our site is completely designed for the repetition of playing a bunch of hands without risking your money and being able to replay, retry, get info on opponent ranges and odds, etc.

Best of luck with your game.

I suggest having multiple sources for your knowledge. The thing is all sources have flaws because the game is not solved. No one can give correct answers consistently.
You can find a thread on here I started making fun of the advisers. I agree they are flawed, but I would stay. Here's why: in any competitive event the players practice much more than they play. So you can bring all your strategies, methods, and ideas here to test them and practice them.
Also you can post hands in the forum and we'll help you.
Problems with KQ? Me too. I have improved notably. Here's what i did in 9 max.
    1. Started folding KQo from early positions.
    2. Open the KQs but mostly fold to a 3bet.
    3. In late position raise or 3bet to take the initiative instead of calling.
    4. Depending on what level you are playing , I might fold to an EP raise.
Still working to get better though.
I have no connection to this sight other than being a member.
