KK seems pretty safe?
I slowplayed this a little because it seemed to be a pretty safe board. What do you think?

yep pretty standard. fast or slow your going broke and its correct to do so every time.
Your fate was to get stacked. Fortunately the law of probability states that you'll be on the top end of these as often as on the bottom.
Standard play for cash with 100BB effective stacks has all the chips going in the middle, almost always pre-flop. However, this was not standard pre-flop action, from either player, and that is important.
The 1 thing that possibly could have saved you was the limp from UTG and then re-raise. It is a horrible horrible play but lots of recreational players like doing this with AA. The key thing to note is that they only do it with AA. I don't know how it came to be a thing but when you see an EP limp followed by a 3-bet over a raise like this, it is 1 and only 1 hand. I have no hard-data to back up my claim but I have enough 1st hand experience to be really confident in it. If anyone else has seen this play with anything other than AA, I'd love to hear about it.
So, you are almost always going broke in this spot but it doesn't have to be 100% of the time. This is one tell that can help you in the future, should you ever face it again. Another is if you are playing against an uber-tight player who only has AA in his 4 or 5-bet shove range. Most players at these stack depths have at least AA, AK and KK in that range but there are players I've played against who will only shove AA pre-flop. I'm thinking of one lady in particular right now and I know a few people who have mucked AK and KK to her shoves, including me. Not once in 2+ years has she ever done it with any other hand (and she always shows it if the board isn't run out). If you find yourself against 1 of these players, 3 or 4 bet on the smaller side and if they shove over, you can actually escape.
The result was inevitable.
Don't agree with how you played it.
Raise again. Bigger picture. Give him the opportunity to spaz jam with a weaker holding. It says he is aggressive intermediate. He might do it. Example: you win less against AK as played.
Real life: just heard of a hand where a guy called off his stack with AJ for 300 bigs.
The wild players are out there. Raising gives them opportunity to make mistakes.
On this website certain bots do the EP limp reraise with AA, KK and AK. Since you had KK, he probably has AA or AK. There are 8 AK combinations and 6 possible AA combinations. So you're ahead 57% of the time. Probably worth a shove preflop, don't you think? Small stakes live games I agree with 1warlock that most players will do it mostly with AA, so that's something to think about.
