This week, the WSOP released a first look at the 2023 WSOP Schedule in Las Vegas. A high point of every poker player’s year is that day when they can start to plan their next trip to the WSOP. The WSOP itself helpfully points out that they have published the preliminary schedule this year in time to make your Las Vegas plans before the holidays! If you are lucky enough to have a poker partner in crime, what a great gift that would make. The 2023 WSOP will again be on the Strip, at Paris and Bally’s, which will be the Horseshoe by summer.
Here at APT, we are all eagerly anticipating the 2023 WSOP. Paul and I spent a month at the WSOP back in 2021, and I will never forget it. Steve fit in a quick trip last summer and is eagerly anticipating his first shot at the Seniors tournament next June (the 21st to be exact).
So what does this first peek at the 2023 WSOP trip schedule have to offer? First of all, we now know that the 2023 WSOP will run from May 30th to July 18th. The $10,000 buy-in Main Event will begin on July 3rd and feature four Day 1s and the ability to delay your buy-in to Day 2.
The Mystery Bounty Tournament has become such a popular format that the WSOP has moved it to the opening weekend. Launching on May 31st, the $1,000 buy-in Mystery Millions will have bounties ranging from $10,000 to $1,000,000. The winner will also receive at least $1,000,000 guaranteed.
Always innovating, the WSOP has two new events on its schedule this summer. The Gladiators of Poker tournament on June 7th has a mere $300 buy-in. This is the lowest buy-in of the entire series. In fact, it is the smallest buy-in live Vegas WSOP bracelet in history. Yet, the WSOP is offering a $3 million guarantee for this event. The only prize pool guarantee thus offered. I can only imagine the lines at the cashier for that one!
The WSOP has also announced the mysteriously named Ultra Stack tournament on July 11th. No details (or stack sizes) have been yet announced for this $600 buy-in event, but the mind boggles.
